Hi, The transition towns in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex recently held a get together where they discussed experiences. They published this summary. What I (perhaps strangely) found most useful was the "Transition Trou...

Hello Casper, I think this discussion should really be on the SML group site. Do you know how to transfer the discussion from the general forum to the group forum? It is confusing having SML conversations off the group site, don't you think? Rob

I think there are some interesting reports in this newsletter. The Dunsfold Aerodrome planning application for an eco-village and the opposition of GBC to a CSA project in the borough are worrying. I attach word doc version of the newsletter. Rob

I think I'll do well to achieve 10% in 2010, but that will be to fail! Read on. We had an interesting discussion over a beer after the TTF meeting last night. Quite a few of us are inspired by the visit to David and Betty Moxom's eco-house the ot...

Don't forget we can do out own Transition Town showing before then, using the copy obtained by BGC. Available for hire at stupidly low rates! Rob.

Well, this is great news! Tell us more! I must say "interstitial spaces in the Chantries (sic)" has a sort of gothic ring about it! I like it! Rob.

Hi Casper, I did try to join this group but I got no confirmation so I do not know if it worked. In the meantime, for home energy use I can recommend i-measure as a way to log and compare gas and electricity usage. It is being upgraded at the mom...

Slow time transition

They were called Holly, Spirit and Mother: the three cows put to graze down the sward in Bentley Station Meadow butterfly reserve last month. I saw them but once shortly after they arrived seven weeks ago - and now they are gone. Taken off as they have done their job and the ground is getting sodden through. I missed not being able to participate in the daily cattle checking rota; I was just the reserve call out for when the volunteers on Station Road couldn't manage it. As things turned out, th… Continue

Climate change caused by tree cover reduction in Ghana

This one is especially for Alex and is also a test of the Blog feature of Ning:
